A neuropsychological examination is a comprehensive assessment designed to offer valuable insights into your or your child’s brain functioning in relation to their thinking, emotions, and behavior. It thoroughly evaluates a range of cognitive abilities, including attention, processing speed, memory, language, problem-solving, reasoning, visual spatial skills, and executive functioning.
The primary objective of the assessment is to identify cognitive strengths and areas for growth in brain-based functioning, thereby providing a deeper understanding of an individual’s current cognitive profile. This information serves as a guiding factor in treatment planning, equips you with practical tools, and offers clarity regarding diagnosis.
The process:
You will complete an intake, where we gain detailed information about medical and developmental history, mental health history, education/occupation, and current concerns.
Consult with outside treatment providers with consent.
Neuropsychological examination - you will complete a series of objective tests tailored to your needs. We will assess cognitive functioning, academics, attention, memory, and more.
Follow up - after completing the assessment you will meet with Dr. Frankfort to discuss and review your results, review treatment recommendations, and answer questions.
